ROCKY Disc-Jockey’s sidekick Jai.

Raised on jazz, blues, swing & pop from an early age. A club regular from age 17, American funk & jazz fusion was added to a growing record collection.

Studying and earning a performing arts degree in London gave her access to the turntables in the students union and her reputation and diverse record collection grew as she entertained across the London area college circuit.

She had residences in London pubs and local clubs, was the support act for many successful bands and nationally known radio presenters of the time and DJ for private celebrations as a mobile disc jockey.

After a long break she joined hospital radio, became part of an ABBA tribute band in Tenerife for a season, performed in amateur musical theatre & straight plays, sang in live bands and has even been on stage with the Moldovan National Opera in  Carmen!

She now puts her fifty plus years wealth of music knowledge and experience as an actor, singer, dancer, performer and DJ to better use presenting for the community that has welcomed her and that she loves.

Personal music taste? Anything that grabs her attention from all genres: folk, rock, pop, indie, country, blues, d&b, house, rap, you name it.

Jai loves the Eurovision Song Contest for the diversity, fun & some outstanding surprises every year.

Her  shows are always a bit bonkers bordering on chaotic.

Her other big passion is The Royal British Legion and all mental health matters. Guests are invited to the studio to chat about a huge variety of subjects plus she adores audience interaction and requests.
